It’s later than you think.

More and more, I see people who are stuck in jobs they don’t like. People who don't see a future they’re excited about and don’t know what to do about it.

Our education system (especially the one that raised me) was built on a “do what I'm told” system. This is not a system that produces critical thinkers or problem solvers. We have eliminated a lot of struggle from people in favor of a participation trophy mentality.

Effort leads to growth. Stress causes adaptation. Learning how to press forward through failures and setbacks, both fair and unfair, and through all the challenges that life is inevitably going to present to you is critical for continued growth.

Following the path:

Go to school

Take these classes

Pass these test

Get these grades

Go to more school

Take more tests

Build debt

Graduate

Get a job

Start a family

(Welcome to happiness and success.  This is the point where you feel crazy for wanting more.)

It’s easy to see people why people did what they were “supposed to do.”  But the results don’t feel secure.  They don’t feel happy or stable.

There is a moment when you realize that the rules don’t apply to you. You don’t fit the standard mold.  You aren’t happy or excited to live your life. You’re not chasing anything you’re passionate about.

If you want more, you’re not alone.

I want to be fulfilled and challenged.

I don’t want 2 weeks vacation.

I don’t want to work for the weekend.

I want to chase fire everyday.

I will do whatever it takes to live in that light.

Time is always ticking away.  If you want to change your life in any way,  TODAY IS THE OPPORTUNITY to make a single step in that direction.

It’s later than you think.
